It’s All About Flow

When I started my first business venture I learned the importance of  having“ flow” in my life versus just maintaining balance. Its extremely hard to balance multiple things at once right? I found myself feeling overwhelmed and spread thin. Often times one thing would become more heavier and it would always continue to shift and change.  One thing would require more attention from me and I’d pivot creating this balancing act that became tiring and frustrating.

Flow is incorporating all that you do into a lifestyle and allowing it to run like a river, seamlessly. When you are in this state of being you are able to move toward wholeness and incorporate a happier you. You can own multiple businesses, work at corporations, have several hobbies, spend time with your family and friends and most importantly you can do all these things while also taking care of you!

So how do you create flow in your life? Let me give you a general idea of it. First things first, pull out a calendar, planner, or notepad as you need to visually see it. Now, you will need to become aware of who you are to yourself and others. What hats do you wear? What are your responsibilities? What do they require of you? Choosing and prioritizing your goals and responsibilities is really important and if you are anything like me its A STRUGGLE but once you set clear goals and foster organization, your mind declutters and you can think much clearer. Offload whatever is NOT a “need to do” because sometimes we feel like everything needs to be done all at once, but who said so? Who’s watching your clock? Release the pressure and focus on what is important right now.

Now, when taking action, it’s important to stay in the moment, focus and follow through. For example, if I decide to go to the gym for an hour, than an hour I am working out! Not trying to get some extra work done in between time or respond to emails, I’m simply enjoying my workout (or not). Being present in the moment allows you to truly feel and be aware of your state of being while giving you a sense of fulfillment!

Being in the state of flow is all about you and your lifestyle not anyone else’s, you lose consciousness of “control” and “expectations “ and allow yourself to intuitively focus and execute. I challenge everyone reading this to try this simple shift and see how they feel! Remember the ultimate goal is for you to embody overall happiness, wellness and peace by taking care of YOU, first.
