Not Ashamed to Say I Talk to Myself

I have grown a strong relationship with myself over the years, so much so that I have intentional, thoughtful conversations with my brain. I want to share how powerful the tongue is, not only when speaking to others but also when we speak to ourselves. The things we say good and bad have a way of penetrating into our minds and thus our actions. When we speak negatively about ourselves we create a falsified reality and our minds start to believe our inner dialogue. Saying "you know you can't do this", tricks our brain into thinking it's true. In case you didn't know, you have all that is required to do anything and everything you choose to do, but it wont happen until you start believing you can. Here's a tip that has personally worked for me, specifically when I had no motivation to work-out but was disappointed when I looked in the mirror. Instead of instantly bashing my body, I'd catch myself and say " I'm working on it and I still look great", with a smile. That simple sentence had such a powerful effect on my body image and motivated me to actually start going to the gym! Every time you start to say something negative about yourself I want you to "flip it and reverse it" as Missy Elliot would say. Bit by bit let's start turning the " I can't" into " I can".
